Well the hustings took place today and there were Lib Dems hanging off wall to wall to see the three candidates. As usual, names were traded on with a heavy sprinkle of jokes and at points there was a faulty analysis and reading of Party policies, (ladies and gentleman - please digest Party policy.)
This took away from the experience, the policy know how and the political abilities that needed to be shown. These are the skills that can and do make a difference. More than ever, we need to focus less on the individual and more on what political knowledge and policy grasp someone brings.
And what of issues of being hard on drug crime as was mentioned by one candidate? (Me thinks there was a swipe at one of the other candidates!) Steady now, all aboard and mind the icebergs.
